| Thermoelectric (Peltier)
heat pumps are capable of refrigerating a solid or fluid object.
Unlike conventional vapor compressor systems, thermoelectric
units (modules) are miniature devices. A typical module measures
1" x 1" x 0.19". Our smallest sub-miniature
modules measure 0.16" x 0.16" x 0.09". These
units are easily capable of reducing the temperature to well
below freezing. Competitive Advantages
It is possible to build thermoelectric systems
in a space of less than 1 cubic inch. More typically, thermoelectric
systems occupy about 20 to 30 in3 of space. These
systems are energized by a DC power input. In addition to
the space and weight saving advantages, thermoelectrics
offer the utmost in reliability due to its solid state construction.
Another feature of importance is the ease with which a thermoelectric
can be precisely temperature controlled, an important advantage
for scientific, military and aerospace applications. |
